Gym Competition Practice Session

  1. I'll be taking the gymnasts to Bishan on Monday. There will be return transport provided back to school, to reach school hopefully by 1.30pm if the traffic is smooth.
  2. Gymnasts are to take heavy breakfast in the morning, but I'll get some snacks for them too. Meet me at the Meeting Point at 9am. If parents choose to send your child directly to Bishan, you may do so but please alert me.
  3. On the days of competition, gymnasts are to report to the teacher-in-charge once they reach the Sports Hall.
  4. For gymnasts whose competition starts later in the afternoon, if you choose to attend school in the morning, please let the teachers in charge know. Transport will be provided if there's many of you. Teachers in charge will be calling you.
  5. Remember to sew on the number tags at the back of the leotards.
  6. Boys remember to bring along white socks (not those with grey bottom) for your Mushroom / Pommel Horse.
  7. I've bought 15 carpark coupons for Tue and Fri. Please approach the teacher-in-charge to purchase it if parents want them. It's $2.50 for each day. First come first serve. The coupons will be passed to me either on Monday or Tuesday. Please look for me to purchase them on Monday or Mrs Jennifer Tan to purchase them on Tuesday.
That' all for now. I'll update more information when there's a need. For results, please refer to the SPSSC website at the end of each competition day.

March holidays training

Please note that training sessions during the March school holidays are only for the competitors taking part in this year's National Inter-Primary Schools Gymnastics Championships. It's held from 1 to 4 April, so this March holiday training is crucial before the competition. Competitors ought to attend the training to be fully prepared.
Non-competitors do not attend training during the holidays.
The schedule for the competition is not published yet. Once it is, I'll inform all via this blog and the link has been created on the side bar, under S'pore Pri Sch Sports Council.

schedule for extra training for C and B Boys

Dear Parents,
Below are the dates that our coach had kindly arranged for extra training sessions. Parents have to take care of the logistics as there will not be teachers-in-charge around. This arrangement is purely done out of the goodwill by the coach. He is concerned about the safety of some boys (who have not been regular in training) when they execute certain gym elements.
Please inform the coach, Mr Cheng Wen Kai, on the sessions your child will be attending. You may call contact him via BazGym telephone no. 66864309 or email address wenkai@bazgym.com

Sundays: 9, 16, 23 & 30 March.
C Boys: 9-11am on all four days
B Boys: 2-4pm on all days except 16 March at 9-11am
Venue: BazGym at SAFRA Jurong

Coach Zhang for boy's team

Dear parents,
We learnt about Coach Zhang's departure not long ago. Our boys will still continue to train in BazGym. Currently, we have the other Coach Cheng Wen Kai training the boys on every session since last year, so there's not much problem in the regular training sessions. The only difference is that Coach Zhang is not around.
The head coach, Mr Sng, will be personally involved in our competition boys teams, taking care of their routine choreography. Mr Sng will also be looking into finding another suitable coach if the need arises. We will try all ways to minimise disruption.
We would like to thank Coach Zhang for his past year's effort in training our boys and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Gym Members' Particulars Forms

Dear Parents,

We will like to collate your child's particulars such as medical history and parents' email addresses. Please help to fill in the online form by 16 February, Sunday. The email address given should be the one that you regularly use.

We will also like you to take a photo of your child's student pass and send it to soh_bin_shin@nyps.edu.sg. In the event that your child is selected for competitions, we will need the information on the student pass to register your child. For new P1 members, you need not do so.

Many thanks for your prompt action.

Yours truly,
Mdm Soh Bin Shin Jess
