This Fri GymFest practice and actual day performance.

Dear parents,

Please refer to the previous email on the meeting time for rehearsal and actual performance. No change in that. Meet at 8.45am and 12noon on Sunday.  The entire GymFest 2014 will end at 4.45pm. 

Please look out for me and the coaches in the morning when you reach the sports hall. When pupils meet up at noon again, please apply ready the foundation & powder on the face (yes, for all boys and girls). Bring along the powder in case we need to do touch up. Tie up / gel up your hair accordingly beforehand. Parents who volunteers to help in make-up, please also meet at noon to start putting on the colours on pupils' faces. We are doing some face painting. Hair for all boys: gel up. Hair for Secondary girls: bun in the middle. Hair for primary gym girls: bun slightly on the left side. Hair for Wushu girls: high ponytail in the middle. 

For parents who had requested for me to help purchase tickets, I've given the tickets to pupils today. Please pay me on Friday. $5 for each adult and $2 for each child. Please do not refer to the printed price on the tickets as I'd bought them at a discounted price. 

Friday's attendance is important. It's the last full-dressed practice. Please bring along costumes required. Gym Boys with long pants to bring along long white pants. 

Bryan and Daniel's parents, I need your help to remind your boys to bring the white shorts (to lend to younger boys on Sunday).

Do look out for any other updates from our gym blog till Sat night. FYI, although the aim of GymFest is on mass performance, there are awards given out at the end of the performance too. Thus, we hope all pupils will do their best on Sunday after all the months of practices.

GymFest rehearsal and actual performance

Dear parents,

I’ll submit the purchase of GymFest entrance tickets at 3pm tomorrow (19/11).  

The allocated time for rehearsal is 9.30am to 9.45am on 30 Nov. Please meet punctually at Toa Payoh Sports Hall at 8.45am.

Surprisingly this time, lunch will not be included. There will be a break of 2 hours before we gather at 12pm again to start our make-up and hairdo for the actual performance. So with such a long waiting hours, we are requesting parents to take your child home/out for lunch. It’ll be rather boring for the child to wait in Toa Payoh Sports Hall from 8.45am till 5pm.    

Our school is the first performing team after the official opening at 2pm and mass dance. Thus, it’s imperative that we gather at 12 noon to start getting ready. The participants will be dressed like forest fairies, pixies and elves. We will let parents know about any cost incurred for the accessories. We are not tailoring brand new costumes for this local GymFest. In addition, to cater to your child’s skin type and colour, we propose your child to come ready at 12 noon with foundation and powder or bring them along for parent volunteers (PV) to put on for your child. PV will help to put on make-up with face tattoo and do the hair.

reminder on the next few GymFest practices

Please refer to the previous blog entry for rehearsal on 30 Nov. 

Reminder on the following dates for our practices at Jurong SAFRA: 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28 Nov. Practice time 8.30am-12.30pm. It's vital for all participants to attend.   

Bus will leave KRC Meeting Point at 8am. Practice will end at 12.30pm. Bus will reach Meeting Point at about 1pm. All GymFest participants,  which include ​Wushu pupils and Gym pupils, will take the same bus.  ​If your child is not taking the school bus, do alert me via email.

Cost of the costumes has not been finalised. The school will co-pay an amount and the rest will be paid by parents. An estimate will be between $70 to $100.

Please let me know if you want me to help purchase tickets for supporters. It's $5 for an adult ticket and $2 for a child. I also appeal for parents to help in the make up and hairdo on the actual day.

Final rehearsal for GymFest in the morning of 30 Nov

Please note that the final rehearsal for GymFest will take place on Sunday 30^th morning: 9am to 12noon.  Further details will follow.
The actual performance will be on Sunday 30th afternoon. The line up of event has yet to finalize. Please keep the morning of 30 Nov free for the final on-site rehearsal. 
Besides, we need parent volunteers to help with the make-up and hairdo for the pupils on the actual day. Please let me know if you are able to help. Parent volunteers will not need to pay for the entrance ticket.

reminder: GymFest practice resumes

Dear parents,

A gentle reminder that our practice for GymFest resumes this Thursday and Friday. Please remind your child to attend the practice sessions as many of them may have forgotten the steps after the long exam break.

Some of the pupils have taken their measurements for their costumes. For the rest,  Miss Mae Yang will fix another timeslot for the tailor to come down to take measurement. I’ll let you know the date once I have it.

I’ll also be collating and buying in bulk the GymFest tickets at a lower price. An adult ticket is $5 and Child is $2.  Please let me know the number of tickets you need. Participants do not pay for the entrance ticket, parents and supporters do.
